Campaigner (f/m/d) – Trophy Hunting
Humane Society International (HSI) is looking for a campaigner to develop and implement our European campaign on Trophy Hunting in Germany.
Hundreds of thousands of wild mammals, including endangered or threatened species, are slain by trophy hunters each year. German hunters import hundreds of trophies each year, which makes Germany one of the major importers in the EU. HSI works to raise public awareness regarding this issue, improving legal protections and encouraging alternative action.
The trophy hunting campaign in Germany will consist of lobby activities, public and media engagement, and activities in the direction of companies and other stakeholders. The campaign will be carried out in five EU countries.
The position of the Campaigner in Germany reports to the HSI Country Director in Germany and the Trophy Hunting Campaign Lead for Europe and is under the functional guidance of the Wildlife program department at HSI’s global headquarters in Washington, DC.
This role is an excellent and unique opportunity to deliver a high-profile campaign that will have a strong impact on the lives of animals and the protection of their natural habitats.
The position is offered on a 6-month consultancy contract. Extension after this period is possible. (The campaign is expected to last for approximately two years.)
