A large number of actors in research, teaching, transfer, administration and operations at CAU have been living sustainability for a long time - with the university's goal of being climate-neutral by 2030 firmly in mind. The project 'Sustainable University' promotes the strategic developmentof sustainability issues in the areas of research, teaching, transfer and campus life towards a university-wide understanding of sustainability. An important institutional project goal is therefore to develop cornerstones for a university-wide understanding of sustainability and a first sustainability report. The 'Sustainable University' project encourages and facilitates student commitment to sustainability in particular. A core element is therefore the establishment of a Green Office at Kiel University. This will strengthen cooperation between the already existing andmotivated actors and promote cooperation and synergies.
The project officer works in part as a staff member of the department Strategy and Planning for the development of sustainability concepts in the context of the overall university strategy. On the other hand, the project officer prepares the conception and the establishment of a Green Office and supports the student team administratively and thematically.
