About TMG GmbH

TMG - Töpfer, Müller, Gaßner GmbH provides strategic advice and implements concrete solutions for sustainability to governments, private firms, and international organisations. It brings sound knowledge and practical experience in facilitating national, European, and international processes and is dedicated to the analysis and solution of new and complex sustainability challenges.

About the project

PLAN’EAT is a Horizon Europe project that seeks the development of innovative, effective tools and strategies to facilitate the transition towards healthy and sustainable dietary behaviour in Europe. In a consortium of 24 European partners, TMG leads the work on true cost accounting (TCA) to analyse the environmental, health and social impacts of European diets and their associated hidden costs.

Your tasks

• Development and implementation of a communication strategy for TMG’s True Cost Accounting programme, incl. staying up to date with ongoing relevant national and international sustainability discussions
• Lead strategic communications and outreach activities, including the production of targeted text and audio-visual content on relevant topics and issues, to present TMG's true cost accounting work and impact to the outside world
• Advice and support the PLAN’EAT team in the design, editing and publication of key reports, development of graphics, short videos, PowerPoint presentations, newsletters as well as other promotional materials for wider outreach
• Key contact at TMG GmbH for communication matters for other PLAN’EAT partners and management of service providers (design agencies, editors, etc.)
• Web development, maintenance and regular updating of TMG’s true cost accounting website
• Tracking web and social media analytics to support the development of outreach strategies

Your profile

• At least a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences, international studies, politics, journalism or a related field
• Knowledge of the German, European and international sustainability community and relevant discussions
• Experience in developing communication strategies targeting policy makers and society
• Several years of relevant experience in editing and publishing outputs such as blogs, research or policy papers that translate research findings into written pieces at the science-policy-society interface
• Relevant experience in website development and maintenance
• Relevant experience in the strategic use of social media and digital platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter etc.); knowledge of digital publishing processes and how they impact content development
• Experience in briefing and steering of service providers (e.g. graphic designer)
• Excellent spelling and grammatical skill, attention to detail, quality control
• Ability to prioritize work assignments, accuracy and strong organizational and analytical skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English and German
• Enthusiasm, flexibility, strong team-spirit, ability to learn independently and a commitment to working within a dynamic, transdisciplinary, policy-relevant field

The position is to be filled as soon as possible with a duration of one year with the prospect of contract extension pending further funding. Preferred duty station is Berlin.
